Associate
Member

Associate Members do not hold a terminal degree and are not currently pursuing one but have specialized training and are actively engaged in sleep research, typically in a laboratory setting.


Postdoctoral Member

Postdoctoral Members have earned their terminal degree and are engaged in postdoctoral training (e.g., residency, fellowship, or research position). Membership in this category is limited to five years.

Predoctoral Student Member

Predoctoral Members are pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree, or have completed an undergraduate degree within the last two years and are working in a sleep research laboratory before or during graduate study. Membership in this category is limited to seven years.

Undergraduate Student Member

Undergraduate Members are currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program. Membership in this category is limited to four years.

Emeritus Member

Emeritus Members must be full members for at least ten years and be retired professionally or have obtained Emeritus status at an academic or research institution. Membership ($110/Year) includes the online version of the journal SLEEP.

Reside outside the U.S.?

You may qualify for reduced membership dues. Scientists in the field of sleep research from certain nations other than the United States whose financial and academic situation renders it difficult to pay full member dues may apply for reduced membership dues.
