C-07: Sleep Medicine Board Review

This course is intended to provide a review of essential sleep medicine curricula for physicians preparing for the American Board of Medical Specialties examination in the specialty of sleep medicine.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Enhance sleep medicine competence among sleep physicians by providing a concise, evidence-based review of sleep medicine following established core competencies;
• Appraise their sleep medicine knowledge through self-assessment questions to help identify knowledge gaps and address these with high-yield sleep educational resources;
• Describe the evaluation of patients who present with insomnia, hypersomnia, abnormal movements, and complex behaviors at night through this concise and comprehensive review of these presentations;
• Review sleep medicine using an interactive audience response system with multiple choice questions to engage the audience throughout the course duration; and
• Develop differential diagnosis, identify appropriate diagnostic strategies and formulate appropriate treatment strategies to address the spectrum of sleep disorders presented.
